PlanetNext offers an extensive collection of news on sustainable growth, ethical finance and alternative ideas for our planet’s development. We provide articles, editorial contributions, data, and analyses produced by ourselves and a selection of items of interest from other sources around the world.
In addition, PlanetNext is a discussion platform for information and ideas carried by the most diverse media, tracking challenges, trends and solutions with regard to innovative global economics. And it promotes the debate on ways to increase and improve cooperation and mutual exchanges between “official” media and web-based postings.
Our aim is to look at economics and finance from an ethical and sustainable perspective, trying to answer one basic question: what values are driving contemporary society? We examine novel approaches to development, such as alternative finance, micro-credit, fair trade; ways in which government-sponsored institutions can work together with non-profit organizations to promote economic growth, maintain a stable social environment, guarantee human rights and provide equal opportunities. We focus also on energy resources and the environment, asking how industry and institutions are addressing the issue of sustainable development, eco-tourism, waste management, standards of certification, ecological travel and the CO2 footprints left by world-wide food transports.
PlanetNext will primarily be published in English, although during our initial phase we may occasionally offer material in its original language, as submitted by contributors. At a later date we will explore the possibility of providing translations (into, e.g., Arabic, Spanish, and German).
